343iBot
Redfall's release week hasn't exactly gone smoothly, but if you feel that the game's controller aiming feels a bit weird, that's one problem that you might be able to fix. Several players went to social media to complain that aiming in Redfall feels less than desirable on a controller, with large deadzones and a sluggish response.Important notice: out of the box, the game feels horrible to play on a controller in my opinion.Change "Input Response Preset" to low and you'll instantly have a much better experience + raise controller sensitivity. Here are my settings. pic.twitter.com/6pFXX4OkcS — Klobrille (@klobrille) May 2, 2023Fortunately, several have since posted possible solutions to the problem. Xbox fan account Klobrille said that changing "Input Response Preset" to low seems to fix the problem. Reddit user Speideronreddit posted a similar fix, also saying that upping the the overall sensitivity setting seemed to help as well. Though we can't guarantee that this will solve the problem, it's worth a shot. The latest game from acclaimed studio Arkane Austin, Redfall has released to mixed reviews. Critics and general players alike have complained of the game's technical issues and lifeless world, while opining that the game seems to have an identity crisis. In GameSpot's Redfall review, critic Mark Delaney said that the game does not play to Arkane's strengths as a studio, and that its lackluster gameplay overshadows its intriguing world."Ultimately, Redfall is a game that should not have been released yet," he wrote. "Its litany of bugs hampers the gameplay loop of exploring its world with friends, and that loop itself feels compromised by elements that are poorly executed and ill-suited to the team implementing them. I can't pretend to know whether Arkane chose to make a loot-shooter or was assigned to make a loot-shooter, but I can tell you what it feels like: one of the best game studios in the world suddenly made toothless."View the full article
