Apex Legends Season 17: Arsenal is just a few days away, and developer Respawn Entertainment is kicking things off with a limited-time mode that will get its own dedicated playlist during Arsenal's first in-game seasonal event. But for the first time in Apex Legends history, Respawn is letting players decide which game mode they want to play during the upcoming limited-time event.

The announcement was made via a tweet from the official Apex Legends Twitter account, which contains a link to an online poll inviting players to choose between Control, Gun Run, and the newly added Team Deathmatch mode.

Currently, all three modes are included in a single playlist that periodically changes to a different mode throughout the day. Whichever mode wins the vote will receive its own playlist for the duration of the limited-time event, making it available to play the entire time the event is live. Most of Apex's limited-time events last for two weeks, so this one-mode playlist will likely stick around for at least 14 days. It's not clear if Mixtape Mode will also be available to play during the event (giving players access to the two game modes that don't win the vote), or if it will become temporarily unavailable.

Players can begin voting today, May 5, and have until next Monday, May 8, at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET to submit their choices. But they'll have to wait a bit longer to find out the winner, as the limited-time event won't go live when Season 17 launches on May 9. Instead, players will learn which mode came out on top when the upcoming event's details are released on Thursday, May 18. No time has been specified, but event trailers generally debut at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, so it's likely the event will be revealed in greater detail at that time.Apex Legends Season 17: Arsenal goes live Tuesday, March 9 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.
