Apple has revealed its next product, the Apple Vision Pro, and its announcement certainly garnered quite a response online. The headset, which starts at $3,500, launches in early 2024, promising to revolutionize the way people experience the world around them.

But the lofty price point and other elements of Apple's announcement of the device led to some hilarious reactions and memes, as well as some thoughtful analysis of Apple's intentions. The Apple Vision Pro differentiates itself from Meta Quest 3 and PlayStation VR 2 by allowing users to see the real world and virtual apps and experiences at the same time. In terms of gaming support, the Apple Vision Pro will support Apple Arcade so users can play Apple Arcade titles on a simulated screen. There will be entertainment and workplace productivity apps available, too, including Disney+ and Microsoft Word, among others.

AR is not a brush that can be just painted on everything and instantly make it better -- though people will try! -- but there are some amazing use cases where it's going to be a quantum leap forward. Interactive instructions while building a PC or working on a car engine. Damn.
