343iBot
In just four days, Diablo 4 has become Blizzard's fastest-selling game of all time, Blizzard has, however, not revealed what the sales figure is thus far. Since its early access launch on June 1, the game has been played for 93 million hours, combined. This comes by way of a press release shared on Businesswire, which notes that this major milestone is based on all platforms combined prior to June 5. Diablo 4 launched in early access on June 1 for players who purchased Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of the game. The standard version of Diablo 4 launched worldwide today, June 6.Blizzard did not specify how many copies of Diablo 4 were sold since June 1, but for comparison, Diablo 3 sold over 3.5 million copies on PC within 24 hours. Diablo 3 did not launch on consoles initially.“This is a moment years in the making for the Diablo 4 team,” said Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson. “We’re extremely proud to offer players the richest story ever told in a Diablo game."The fires of Hell burn bright #DiabloIV is the fastest selling Blizzard game of all-time. pic.twitter.com/L4pdjVnWFE — Diablo (@Diablo) June 6, 2023Diablo 4 launched to positive reviews, with many critics praising its gameplay, story, and the sheer amount of content available at launch. Players have also enjoyed a smooth launch, with very few server issues within the first couple of days (especially compared to other live-service titles)."Diablo IV, at this time, cannot escape comparison to the past of the franchise it belongs to, but it's thankfully a game that has been crafted with a strong awareness of what made each one either revered or reviled. It represents a measured approach to combining the many elements from previous entries that worked into a system that feels like the new standard-bearer for action role-playing. Coupled with a new benchmark for storytelling in the franchise, and a solid narrative foundation for any potential new adventures, it's easy to see Diablo IV as something I'll regularly check-in on for a long time to come," wrote Alessandro Barbosa in GameSpot's Diablo 4 review.View the full article
