Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will get a new name for the upcoming launch of Season 4. The first teaser art for Season 4 has landed, and it refers to the battle royale game simply as "Warzone" as opposed to Warzone 2.0.

This name change had been rumored for some time, and a representative for Activision confirmed that "2.0" has been dropped from the name. It is unclear if the original Warzone will get a name change, too. Warzone 2.0 released at the end of 2022. If the OG Warzone doesn't change names, Activision Blizzard will be operating two separate games with the same name.

Additionally, the Call of Duty logo is changing, it seems. The new logo has more of a arcade game-style vibe.

Season 4 adds the Russian soldier Nikto as a new playable Operator. The new season launches on June 14 for both Warzone and Modern Warfare II. Season 4 reportedly also adds a new Warzone map, which will be called Vondel and is set in the Netherlands, according to CharlieIntel. Activision has yet to formally reveal and detail Season 4, however. More details on Season 4 will be released during Summer Game Fest on June 8.

In addition to the ongoing updates for Warzone and Modern Warfare II, Activision will release a new Call of Duty game this year. It's reportedly going to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, with Sledgehammer Games leading development and multiple other studios contributing.

Looking further out, Activision's Treyarch studio will reportedly take the reins and lead development on a new Call of Duty game for 2024. Supposed concept art leaked in 2022.

Activision typically does not comment on rumors about upcoming Call of Duty games. Keep checking back with GameSpot for the latest.
