GameStop has made official its collaboration with Valve to sell 'Steam Wallet' codes in stores across the US.

Available from today, the Steam Wallet cards come in denominations of $20 or $50, which is redeemed on Steam via a code printed on the card.

"This gives even more options to customers now that they can put money in their Steam Wallet using cash, gift cards or trade credits through our convenient neighborhood locations," said GameStop's GM of digital distribution, Steve Nix.

"Offering Steam Wallet codes at GameStop extends more options and convenience to gamers around to the world," agreed Valve's Jason Holtman.

Rumour reports that first outed the Valve/GameStop collaboration last week claimed that it was a bitter sweet deal between the two firms, since it's not an ideal way for either to sell games.
