343iBot
More than six years after the console originally launched in March 2017, the Nintendo Switch has just set another sales record. According to Nikkei, Nintendo sold more units in June 2023 than it had for any previous June since the console was released years ago.Specifically, Nikkei reported (via Stealth40k) that Nintendo sold 380,000 Switch units in June. That is 68% more units than Nintendo sold during June 2022 in Japan. No doubt the recent launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom helped juice sales beyond what might be considered normal. Another element that might have helped spruce sales was the Nintendo Direct in June where the company showed off a range of upcoming titles to get people excited about buying into the Nintendo Switch ecosystem. While Nintendo Switch sales might have grown in Japan during June 2023 compared to the previous year, overall worldwide, Nintendo is projecting to sell fewer consoles this financial year than last. The Nintendo Switch will be followed up by whatever console Nintendo makes next. It hasn't been announced yet, but a report said development on this supposed machine is coming along well.View the full article
