In a new YouTube video, popular streamer Swagg revealed that there were plans for him to get his own Call of Duty weapon blueprint before it was canceled. According to Swagg, plans for the bundle were scrapped due to the Nickmercs controversy that occurred in June.

Earlier this year, Call of Duty streamers TimTheTatMan and Nickmercs each received their own Operator skins in Warzone and Modern Warfare 2. However, shortly after the bundles launched in the game, Nickmercs was criticized over an anti-LGBTQ tweet, leading to the removal of his cosmetic from the game. Shortly thereafter, TimTheTatMan requested his Operator skin be removed in support of Nickmercs.

After Nickmercs' skin was removed, Swagg was told Activision was going in a "different direction," and that the company would no longer be going forward with his bundle. Swagg said he was "hurt" by the decision and expressed his disappointment in the video.

Apparently, Swagg was to receive a weapon blueprint that he had helped design, rather than an Operator using his likeness. Dataminers actually found and shared a work-in-progress image of the blueprint prior to its release, which was promptly taken down after circulating.

GameSpot has reached out to Activision about its supposed plans for a Swagg blueprint and whether the company is reconsidering its policy toward collaborating with content creators.
