The calendar has rolled over to August, and with that, another high-profile game has been added to the Xbox Game Pass library. Added on August 1 was the excellent platformer Celeste, which was one of 2018's best games alongside titles like Red Dead Redemption II, God of War, and Return of the Obra Dinn.

Celeste is available now for Game Pass subscribers across console, PC, and the cloud.

To say much about the story in Celeste might be giving too much away, but suffice it to say, the game was praised for its powerful story about a difficult subject matter. The game, which focuses on a character named Madeline who is climbing a mountain, also earned plaudits for its art and music that help to elevate the overall experience. Here at GameSpot, we scored Celeste a 9/10.

August is another big month for Game Pass. Beyond Celeste, the library will add the adventure game A Short Hike on August 3, side-scrolling run 'n gun game Broforce Forever on August 8, and the adored puzzle-platformer game Limbo on August 9.

Following a recent price hike, Game Pass now costs $17/month for the Ultimate version and $11/month for the standard membership on console. PC Game Pass, meanwhile, did not see an increase and remains priced at $10/month. PC Game Pass and Ultimate have one-month $1 trials available for new members.

A new option called Game Pass Core, featuring a limited selection of titles, launches in September.

Game Pass could see a bunch more additions in the future if Microsoft's deal to buy Activision Blizzard goes through. Keep checking back with GameSpot for more on Game Pass.

This is such an exciting addition to Game Pass! It's great to see how platforms are adding more high-quality titles, making it easier for players to explore incredible games without upfront purchases. For anyone balancing multiple games, services like Game Pass are a game-changer.

As someone who splits time between Halo and World of Warcraft, I know how challenging it can be to progress in all of them. That’s where options like the WoW power leveling service from WowVendor come in handy. Services like these make it possible to advance through WoW efficiently, allowing you to focus on enjoying the game and experiencing new content instead of endlessly grinding. The service is reliable and safe, which is key in WoW's competitive environment.

Overall, it’s exciting to see the gaming landscape becoming more flexible and accessible. With services like Game Pass and time-saving options like WowVendor's power leveling, there’s something for every kind of player, no matter how busy!

If you haven't tried Celeste yet, now's the perfect time! It’s one of those rare games with a powerful story and great gameplay, especially if you enjoy platformers. Plus, with the $1 Game Pass trial, it’s easy to check it out.

I generally love games, when I come after work tired I only want one, relaxation. And games help me detach from everything. I found multiplayer games and now I play Acarde Games, Action, Adventure, Cards etc.
