Halo 4 Idea: Able to pick up jackal's energy shields?

Just got done playing a nice game of firefight and thought how interesting it would be to pick up the energy shield the jackals yield. I mean it could be pretty useful, i like the idea.

 

Any one else agree or disagree?

Disagree, only because Spartans already have energy sheilds so it would be redundant.

Well, there is no dual-wielding in Halo 4, so if its just a shield it might be a bit useful I guess.

I've always thought about this and thought it would be cool until I realized the faults of it. Spartans like John are approximately 2 meters tall while Jackals stand at maybe half that if not less so the shields that they use wouldn't cover the Spartans completely like they do a Jackal.

A Spartan could just crouch. That would also be a nice way of balancing the shield: more protection, less speed.

The point me and Undead are trying to make is that even if they were crouching, the shield may be too small. I don't know, they used it in Fall of Reach the novel so maybe not.

Theres a new thing 343 is putting in to halo 4. Its called cover. You hide behind it when your shields are down and you wont get shot.

A jackal shield is molded to the jackal hosts' forearm. It would simply not fit on a Spartan in armor; no chance.

Herp Derp moment: What would be the point in that when you already have energy shields?

Wouldn't make much sense to me. If you are a Spartan Supersoldier who has THICK, HALF TON armor, who is super fast and and can jump high, it wouldn't make any sense to pick up a Jackal's Energy Shield. This is just my personal opinion.

It would be cool if we could duel wield. But I wouldn't be able to use the shield as an effective weapon

well it could be a possibility mabye not for chief effectively but for spartan IVs their alot smaller then a spartan II and could use the shield to their advantage

Im just saying it wouldnt affect your shields and it would be interesting to have because theres different things 343 can do with it, such as one hit beatdowns, shield yourself from other beatdowns and grenades. Just brainstorming and to name a few..

I do recall John-117 using the shield (or maybe Tom of the Spartan-IIIs), and they served very useful. But I think that idea isn't suited for a game. Meh, the more I think about it the more I like the idea, haha.
