Archangel Tyrael
The games on show at E3 2012 promise to be some of the best of the generation. So you really owe it to yourself to vote in CVG's E3 2012 Awards in the Most Anticipated Title category. Before the show kicks off, we'll work out which of these 20 special E3 game previews have enjoyed the most page views, Facebook 'Likes', ReTweets and poll votes (see below) and crown our first victor at the Los Angeles event. Show your favourites the love! Game: Assassin's Creed 3 Likelihood of E3 2012 showing: Certain Assassin's Creed has always placed an extraordinary emphasis on setting, and despite confounding hopes of cavorting around feudal Japan or Victorian England, Ubisoft's 18th century American frontier, set to the backdrop of revolution and along the fringes of deadly wilds, looks the perfect direction. It's all here: famous figures such as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and Charles Lee, historical events like the Boston Tea Party and New York's Great Fire, epic weapons of the era including muskets, bows and tomahawks, a sleuth-'em-up multiplayer and fights ranging from local fisticuffs to all out war. But what makes this a proper sequel, unlike iterative instalments Brotherhood and Revelations, are its changes. Fighting is more teeth-grittingly visceral, overhauled with thousands of new animations, double-counters, duel-wielding and, of course, two rather sharp hidden blades. There's also brand new conspiracies to unravel. Where before, platforming-heavy Assassin's Tombs rewarded those who ventured off the beaten path, now those 2012-phobic Mayans supply the ancient temples and burial grounds. Devastating weapons and attractive armour is the bounty rife for pillaging, and freerunning your way to them promises a different experience altogether - the latest trailer shows sliding, leapfrogging, and seamless transitions between exterior and interior locations. Oh, and it shows Connor snagging the rifle off a redcoat, shooting him with it, then skewering another attacker with the bayonet. The timeline ends this year (in this story, 2012 is the end of the world) but not before bowing out with more bangs than a fire in a gunpowder store. If it isn't already blindingly obvious, Assassin's Creed III will be a must-have.
Mr Biggles
WHY IS HALO 4 NOT MOST ANTICIPATED? WHY?!?!?! But serious, Ac3 is gonna be so worth it, i just hope it lives through the hype and doesn't disappoint, because that would break everyone's trust in Ubisoft. Trevor
Halo 4 is my most anticipated, but yeah, I hope Assassins Creed 3 can live up to what i'm thinking it will live up to. Hopefully it will be EPIC.
