Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is coming this November, with a beta before that, but you don't have to wait another minute to see more of the military shooter. Activision has released the world gameplay premiere for Modern Warfare III as part of Opening Night Live at Gamescom.

The gameplay footage focused on Modern Warfare III's first mission, "Operation 627," and showed off the best look at the game so far.

The mission sees players storming a fortified prison in the rain at night, using night-vision goggles to guide the way. Players are tasking with clearing a drop zone to allow support to parachute in. All hell eventually breaks loose, and what began as a stealth missions escalates into a massive firefight.

Activision also confirmed that the next Call of Duty Next event is coming on October 5, featuring news about Modern Warfare III, COD Mobile, and Warzone. Additionally, the Modern Warfare III multiplayer beta will begin the weekend of October 6, first on PlayStation.

Sledgehammer Games is leading development on Modern Warfare III, and the game continues the story where 2022's Modern Warfare II left off. This is the first time in series history that fans are getting a direct sequel just one year later. Task Force 141 is back together and on the hunt for Vladimir Makarov, who is one of Call of Duty's most menacing bad guys.

Modern Warfare III launches on November 10. The campaign will be playable up to a week early for people who preorder. For more, you can read up on what's new in Modern Warfare III and how to preorder the game.
