Destroyaaa
I have an issue with how games are released. The game series that I play are Halo, Call of duty (for zombies mostly), Assassin's Creed, GTA, a little Gears of War, and Madden. Excluding Gears of war which I dont even have the 3rd game yet, all of the other games are set to be released from August-December, which presents a problem in terms of purchasing as well as time to play them to the full extent. Madden always comes out in August due to the NFL season starting in September, which obviously makes sense. Halo has always come out in September, now November for Halo 4, fine. Assassins Creed moved their release date to October, which was smart. COD is coming out in November. GTA is rumored to come out in December. Thats $300 I am eventually going to spend on these games. I understand they are trying to compete against each other, but wouldnt it make more sense to release a game at a time like this, where absolutely nothing is going on in the video game world? Its going to take a real long time for me to play these games as much as I'd like.
SatanicBagels
I believe they do it to get there product out on the market as close to the holiday season as possible while not being too close. However it does seem that if, oh lets say, Assassins Creed 3 was released tonight that almost everyone would go out and buy it.
Mr Biggles
because they are all close to christmas and they know that's when everyone will buy them as they will buy them for their sons/daughters/husband/wife/themselves as it is a new game and has big hype.around it. It makes perfect sense, the game market is RIDICULOUSLY competitive at that time.

Zuko 'Zarhamee
Wouldn't it make more sense to release a game when nobody else is releasing games so people would go buy your's instead of other people's games?
PrometheanSigma
It's a Christmas trick. It's almost Christmas so the games are high in demand. You have parents rushing to the stores getting kids their favorite games as presents. It's not a scandal but it IS very annoying.
Mr. Bashful Brute
Halo has always come out in September, now November for Halo 4, fine. Lolwut? Halo CE: November Halo 2: November Halo CEA: November Sure, H3, and Reach came out in sept, but that's only two. The first two Halo games, and the 2 newest came out/are coming out in November. Trevor
They come out because of the Holidays, more people will buy it then. Smart move because Summer has ended and School has begun then, kids need their video games to get away from that stress, it's the perfect month/months.
