If you've been waiting for Starfield's launch to take advantage of the Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass $1 trial deal, we've got some bad news for you. The deal has disappeared from the official Xbox Game Pass website, which means you'll have to pay full price to jump in.

The deal would let new subscribers pay a single dollar to check out Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for two weeks, after which the full $16.99/month fee would kick in. The deal was mentioned on Xbox's website as recently as last week, but the language has been removed as of this morning.

This is not the first time the trial deal has been discontinued, with the most recent suspension occuring in March of this year. The $1 trial returned last month alongside a price increase for the subscription, albeit with some changes from the previous iteration.

This latest elimination of the $1 Game Pass trial is interestingly timed, as it seems to coincide with the launch of Starfield, Bethesda Game Studios's first new IP in 25 years. The game launches next week--September 6 specifically--with those who sprung for early access able to play on September 1.

Those who still wish to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass without the $1 trial have an alternate deal to turn to, as Amazon is currently offering 3-month subscriptions for $40, which is a savings of $5. The service offers a variety of new titles to play along with Starfield, as August alone contains two day-one additions to the service in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Sea Of Stars. Other August additions to Game Pass include the console version of Everspace 2, as well as two indie darlings in Firewatch and Gris.
