343iBot
Diablo IV will increase the amount of XP and gold earned by 25% for a limited time as part of what Blizzard is calling Mother's Blessing Weekend. From 10 AM PDT September 1 to 10 AM PDT September 5, players of Blizzard's ARPG can enjoy increased gold and XP gains. The bonuses apply to both the game's seasonal realms and its non-seasonal, Eternal realm. It will also apply to all of the game's world tiers, so even those playing on lower difficulties can reap some rewards."Stoke the fire, gather round, and rally your most savvy of companions to slay demons with renewed fervor," Blizzard writes. "The Blessed Mother’s cruelty is matched by her generosity, but not for long. Rise to new heights and earn more Gold for your bloodlust in the Mother’s Blessing Weekend!"It's the first time Blizzard has offered extra incentives in Diablo IV since the game's launch back in June. Diablo IV Season 1 started in July, and introduced a new seasonal mechanic in the form of Malignant Hearts. Participating in a season allows players to earn a currency called Smoldering Ash, which can be used to level up various boons over the course of a season. One of those boons, the Urn of Aggression, increases the amount of XP earned from monster kills, something that should pair nicely with the 25% bonus from the Mother's Blessing Weekend. Smoldering Ash can be refunded at any time, so players looking to maximize the bonus XP event will likely want to reallocate their Smoldering Ash to take further advantage of the increased XP gains.Diablo IV's first season may still be in full swing, but Blizzard has already revealed what's coming in Season 2. Titled Season of Blood, Diablo IV season 2 will have players embracing vampiric powers, and will additionally introduce a number of highly-requested quality-of-life changes, such as gems no longer taking up inventory space and a search function for stashes.
